The IAGS assessment procedure addresses organisational decision processes.
It examines whether roles, qualifications, remuneration, documentation and complaints pathways meet the published requirements.
An assessment applies only to the specified provider, process, location and period. It is not a general recommendation for all physicians or services of an organisation.
Basic rule
Missing core requirements cannot be offset by points in less important categories.
A prohibited treatment commission or missing evidence of experience cannot be compensated for by particularly good documentation.
Assessment stages
- Enquiry

What an assessment does not establish
A process assessment is not an individual physician rating, an outcome guarantee or a statutory approval. Independent medical qualifications and the organisational process being assessed are different subjects.
